Overview
In December 2018 the roof of the 9ML reservoir at One Tree Hill was damaged in a storm. The roof structure was damaged to such a point that it could not be repaired and a full replacement was required.
The reservoir is a key part of the Tamworth Water Supply network and supplies water to Hillvue, South Tamworth, Westdale, Kingswood and Calala.
This page provides updates on the refurbishment progress and a space for impacted residents to ask any questions in regards to the project.

Roof Damaged

Draining of the Reservoir
The 6ML of non-potable water held in the reservoir is used to for dust suppression, watering of parks and to fill Scully Pool.

The tender for the project was awarded at the Ordinary Council Meeting on 23 July 2019.

Work Commences
The reservoir has been drained and work has been able to commence. Existing roof, beams and columns have all been removed
As of Wednesday 15 January the following work is still to be completed:
- Cleaning and testing
- Refilling of reservoir
Council expects the reservoir to be back in service in March 2020.
